We visited the Devonport Fire Station recently and were shown around the station and service vehicles. The firefighters gave a very impressive presentation of where fire fighting has come from over the years. Thank you to Robbie Whiteway and the team at Devonport Fire Station for a most informative evening.

The Australian Navy Cadets (ANC) is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Australian Navy. Together with the Australian Air Force Cadets and Australian Army Cadets, it forms the Australian Defence Force Cadets.
We recently enjoyed the hospitality of the TS Mersey Naval Cadets at a dinner meeting put on by the cadets.
Devonport Rotary and the TS Mersey Sea Cadets have a long history with the club having been major contributor to the building of the cadets premises. More recently we have worked together on some BBQ's where the cadets have been an invaluable asset to us.

Spreyton Cider Co is the latest venture from Spreyton Fresh, the home of the finest Fresh Apple Juice since 1998. The cidery located on our working orchards was constructed in 2012 with our first bottling taking place in October 2012. Building on our expertise in producing fresh apple juice, our cider maker has produced a range of ciders that are classic examples of the cider maker’s art.
All our ciders are made from 100% Tasmanian apples and pears, with the majority grown on our own orchards right here in the picturesque Mersey Valley. We use traditional cider making techniques with a modern twist to create our unique range of ciders. All of our cider undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is then bottle conditioned to achieve a light carbonation and a supreme flavour.
The Cidery is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania, and on the Cradle Country touring route to Cradle Mountain. The cidery is open daily for tastings and sales of cider, fresh juices and fruit, with fresh cherries available in season (Mid December to February).
Michelle Distill (Director) Michelle looks after all things office related and keeps the whole ship sailing smoothly. Simon Langworthy (Director) Production Manager – runs the juicing operation. Grant Langworthy (Director) The Ideas man came back from Europe saying we should be making cider. Brett Langworthy, Maintenance Manager, the man with a spanner that keeps all the wheels turning. Warren Viney (Director) Orchard Manager, making sure we have the fruit we need. Damien Viney, Cider Operations Manager, the go to man for all things cider related.
